First Impressions Team
Help People Feel at Home Before They Ever Walk Through the Door
First impressions don’t begin when someone enters the building—they begin the moment they pull onto our property.
A well-kept landscape. A clean sidewalk. A smiling face in the parking lot. An open door. A fresh cup of coffee. A friendly conversation.
Every detail tells a story. Together, they communicate one simple message:
“We’re glad you’re here.”
As a member of our First Impressions Team, you’ll help create an environment where every guest feels welcomed, valued, and prepared to encounter Jesus.
Why First Impressions Matter
Many people arrive at church carrying questions, hurts, fears, or uncertainty. Some have never attended church before. Others are returning after years away.
Before they hear a sermon or sing a worship song, they’re already deciding whether this is a place where they belong.
That’s why First Impressions begins long before the sanctuary. A clean, inviting campus and warm, caring people communicate the love of Christ in tangible ways. Every act of service—whether pulling weeds, greeting at the door, or helping a family find the nursery—is an opportunity to remove distractions so people can focus on Jesus.
A welcoming church doesn’t happen by accident—it happens because ordinary people choose to serve with extraordinary love.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to serve every Sunday?
No. Most team members serve on a rotating schedule so they can worship with their families and avoid burnout.
Do I need experience?
No. We’ll provide all the training you need.
Can families serve together?
Absolutely! Many First Impressions roles are wonderful opportunities for families to serve side by side and model Christlike hospitality together.
What if I’m not an outgoing person?
Not every role involves greeting people. Some of our most valuable team members serve behind the scenes by caring for the grounds, preparing coffee, or making sure everything is ready before guests arrive.
